Software Developer

Namescout.com is seeking a self-motivated Software Developer who is passionate about working on leading edge web applications using best of breed tools in a fast and fun work environment. As a critical member of a small design team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of Namescout.com.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and develop new web applications and web services using ASP.NET 2.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005; Maintain and enhance these applications upon completion
- Assist the Development team in the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications
- Participate in migration of ASP web applications to ASP.NET 2.0
- Accurately meet the documented technical specifications outlined for the application
- Provide support to the internal business staff or external clients on the functionality of the application
- Develop database code (stored procedures, stored functions, triggers, etc) for the application as required
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in ASP.NET 2.0 or ASP.NET 1.1 required; experience in ASP, VB.NET, and ASP.NET AJAX an asset
- Experience with object oriented programming; experience with CSLA.NET (Expert Business Objects) an asset
- Working knowledge of .NET Web Services
- Experience with Transact-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 including SQL Server Management Studio or experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 including Query Analyzer, Enterprise Manager
- GUI design knowledge, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX an asset
- Ability to efficiently and effectively work with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Visio, Microsoft Visual Source Safe, and other desktop processing tools
- Understanding of basic design document structure and data flow diagrams; knowledge of UML an asset
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and planning skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Motivated, energetic, and inventive self-starter
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Responsible, thorough, and creative worker
- Must be able to work effectively both within a team and independently in a high-demand, short deadline environment

Education and training:
- Bachelor's Degree, Certificate in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Quality Assurance Analyst
Working with the Registrar Group Development Team, the candidate will focus on developing and deploying test plans to guarantee the quality and reliability of the product offering of our registrar companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, document, develop and deploy new test plans for applications written in ASP.NET 2.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005;
- Assist the Development team in the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications.
- Ensure that products accurately meet, when available, the documented technical specifications outlined for the application
- Provide support to the internal business staff or external client on the functionality of the application
Experience, Knowledge and skills:
- Dedication to improving the User Experience
- Ablility to develop a test plan, from defined requirements where available, that includes unit testing, integration testing, load testing and stress testing
- Experience with Microsoft .NET testing tools, such as NUnit and ANTS Load;
- Ability to program unit tests and automate testing processes
- Ability to efficiently and effectively work with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Visio, Microsoft Visual Source Safe, and other desktop processing tools.
